USB 2.0 Network Print Server with Ethernet Cable

I have an HP OfficeJet 4500 Wireless printer. However I don't have a wireless router so until now I had to connect the printer directly to my laptop using and on-board USB port. With nifty little print server, connected to a LAN port on my "wired" router, I can now print from my network even if my laptop is turned off. Printing is a tad slower than when the printer is plugged directly into the USB port but with the added flexibility I gained, I don't care. Its easy to install (a cd and docs are included).

This is my second USB to Ethernet printer adapter. The first was of a different brand. Of the two, this one is easier to install. It took about 5 minutes to get setup and print a test page.

Lantronix xPrintServer Home Edition for iOS Printing - XPS1002HM-01-S

I have had this for about a month, and it works just as described.........plug it in, and it is there. I have 2 printers networked, and they are both discoverable. Can print from either the iPhone or the iPad--much more efficient for both my home office and for personal use. I love this!

My iPhone (4S) does not recognize it. The iPad does, sometimes! To make it work with the iPad I have to go to my desktop and have the device rediscover the printer several times a day (The device seems pretty forgetful)! Thinking of returning it. UPDATE Nov 4, 2012: Lantronix tech support was helpful beyond belief! It turned out the issue was with iOS6. Upgrading to iOS 6.0.1 completely solved the issue, both on iPad & iPhone. Thanks to Lantronix tech support, I'm enjoying this awesome product now. Upgrading my rating from two stars to five.

IOGEAR USB 2.0 Print Server, 1-Port GPSU21 (Silver)

This print server was super easy to set up and use. I have two HP DM4 laptops running Windows 7 using this device and it functions as designed. The laptops used to print through a desktop which is no longer available. I followed the instructions and was printing in 10 minutes of less.

Bought it, loved it, works great. I read the other reviews, and took their advice. It sets up quick,( 10 minutes) no problems. I will offer this advice. Keep it within sight only because if you have a power outage, it needs to be reset to let your network know it's there. This is not hard. (electric power supply): unplug it and plug it back in to the unit after 15 seconds and you are back to printing. It seems to have no delay, I have 3 computers using it (one wireless) and it is a champ. I will buy IO Gear again.
